The Whitehall Ferry Terminal is a 450,000 s. f. all-glass
terminal on the southern tip of Manhattan. Five Star Electric installed
all the electrical work for this award-winning new terminal. The three-year
construction schedule was phased to keep ferry pedestrian traffic continuous
throughout the project. This building has solar photo-voltaic panels,
a new state-of-the-art public address system and programmable LED signage
capabilities for both its interior and exterior. The architect was Schwartz
Architects and the engineer was Flack & Kurtz Consulting Engineers.
Tishman Construction was the construction manager. The owner was the New
York City Economic Development Corporation.
