Public School 499, Queens

Public School 499 was first new school built in the last 25 years that was all reinforced concrete with a “pan-type” structural concrete ceiling. This four-story 150,000 s. f. school is located on the campus of Queens Community College. The general contractor was Gottlieb Skanska, Inc., the architect Michael Fieldman Architects, the engineer Lilker Associates Consulting Engineers and the owner was the New York City School Construction Authority.
