Corona Maintenance Facility
The Corona Maintenance Shop and Car Wash Building is a new subway train maintenance facility being in the MTA’s Corona Yards, across from Shea Stadium in Flushing, Queens. Five Star Electric’s work at this new 300,000 s.f. facility included installing all the various lighting and power requirements, fiber optics, fire alarm, telecommunications and CCTV systems. Working for the general contractor, Slattery Skanska Inc. and the architect and engineer Parsons, Brinkerhoff, Quade and Douglas Inc., Five Star Electric was part of the team that completed this portion of this design-build project in 14 months.
